Rural Federal Dressage Championships in Styria

Donna Rivera und Lisa Maria Kerbler/ F.: Theresa Deisl

The Styrian Rural Federal Dressage Championships passed off in Tillmitsch from the 27th to the 29th of May, when Austrian Warmbloods showed podium finishes in all of the five categories. In the General Class, Austrian horses where paramount by occupying the first four ranks.

In this class, two 'M' category competitions were held and all the horse-rider duos' results were impressive. The win was taken by Barbara Bloderer and her eleven year old brown stallion Conteras (by Contendro; breeder: Josef Stuerzlinger from Dresselbrunn) who had more than 70 % in both tests and therefore snatched up the Champions' title with a total of 140.658 points. Runners-up were Christiana Rothwangl and self-bred ten year old brown mare Bandita GBK (by Sandro Hit). They had been awarded 68.922 % and 68.964 % thanks to their outstanding performances and, in the end, held 137.886 points. Third place was celebrated by Barbara Plank and only just eight year old mare Aurora 6 (by Hofrat; breeder: Marianne Jerich from Gleisdorf) who reached 136.176 points. Claudia Kraschansky on top black gelding Shadow 30 (by Stedinger; breeder: Adam Meinhardt from Paternion) took rank 4 with 135.780 points.

For the Young Riders, two 'LM' category competitions were tendered and Lisa-Maria Kerbler took home the runners-up title in the saddle of successful mare Donna Rivera (by Rivero II; breeder: Heinz Hauptmann from St Florian). It was a close call with their total of 135.857 points.

The Juniors' Championships were run in the 'L' category. Flora Poelzler on top twelve year old dark chestnut gelding Roger C (by Radetzky) took care of the best result. The National Champion of the three year old riding horses 2007 was bred by Hubertus Suppan from Poellau and, in this event, obtained 66.552 % and 67.552 % which meant the Champion's title in the end.

The youth fought their battle in the 'A' category. Anna-Lorena Gmainhart on top ten year old chestnut mare Imperia S (by Davignon II; breeder: Sabine Schelch from Spielberg) came in 2nd with two results above 67 %, resulting in a total of 135.453 points.

Championships were also held in the licence-free category and here the win as well as the 3rd place went to riders of Austrian horses. The Rural Federal Champion's title was won by Hannah Haeusl-Bissinger and 13 year old black gelding Rubin Black (by Rosier; breeder: Renate Reiter from Altheim) with grades of 7.8 and 7.3. With 6.8 and 7.1, Denise Friedl and brown mare Dessina SBH (by Grosso Z; breeder: Gottfried Angerer from Leoben) were also quite successful.
